If you have yet to see a creation by Executive Pastry Chef, Mike McCarey of Mike's Amazing Cakes, in Seattle, Washington, you are missing something...well, AMAZING.
Check the link to his website and you will see cakes that seem to defy gravity and explanation. The aforementioned website lists some of his influences as, Norman Rockwell, Alphonse Mucha and James Christensen, but using cake as a venue. The art presented in these "edible sculptures" is both subtle and obvious. The details are always perfect and from everyone I've spoken to, his creations are DELICIOUS.
Apparently, this "Master Baker" has a perfect delivery record as well. The bakery will ship ANYWHERE, airport to airport, and they seem rather proud of their 100% delivery record.
So, the next time one of your clients requests something "AMAZING", let them eat cake.
